If you are visiting this site because the educational institution to which you are applying has made ISVS's International Study Candidate Assessment Process (ISCAP) a "required" or "highly recommended" part of their application process, you, your family and your advisors may be asking why you are being asked to participate in this different new process. You may be saying, "Don't they make us take enough tests and submit enough documents?"
Well, this may surprise you, but we could not agree more. US and other English language institutions have been struggling to adapt their existing application requirements to enable you to effectively demonstrate your ability to succeed on their campus. Some of the best schools in America and elsewhere are finally beginning to recognize that. It is precisely for that reason that excellent programs are working with us to turn the ISCAP into a new standard in international student assessment - one that we all hope will eventually replace much of what is required to apply today.
The ISCAP is not a test. There are no right answers. It is primarily a live streaming video conversation between you and a highly trained interviewer during which you get to share all sorts of interesting things about yourself, and we, on behalf of your target school, get to find out all about your experience, skills, interests, knowledge and dreams. There is little extra preparation needed other than the work you already do in school, with your advisors, and in English and other prep courses. In short, ISVS’s ISCAP is a fun and truly interesting session designed to give you, your family and advisor an unbiased assessment of your readiness to attend school overseas and to allow us to produce a report that accurately and fairly tells your target institution who you really are, the level of your true English language communication and comprehension abilities, and your chances of thriving at that school.
In case you are now saying, “Wait a minute. That’s scary.” We are not interested in adding difficulty to your application process. We want it to be a truly valuable, enlightening and fun experience for you or your family-member. When you finish, we will have helped you uncover new information about yourself and your intentions that will enable you and your family to make much better decisions about where, when and how you will go to college or graduate school in the United States or elsewhere.
Attending school abroad is a very expensive investment. While it can be very helpful for your future, poorly informed decisions can be expensive mistakes for you and the school you end up attending. We want to ensure that you and/or your family has the legitimate, high quality and clear information necessary to make the best decisions possible.
Rest assured, we neither get money from, nor pay money to universities. We do not partner with agencies or prep companies. We do not offer prep courses or counseling. We make our money solely through a modest fee of US$300 for the ISCAP appointment and US$25 per report sent to each partner institution you choose. The fees are paid online by you or your family, just like traditional standardized tests. Plus, we handle all aspects of our assessments. We do not hire others to do it for us. With no conflicts of interest, we are able to function as the trusted and trustworthy source of valuable information for universities and you.
So, on behalf of us and our partner institutions, welcome to ISVS! We are looking forward to getting to know you. To register for your ISCAP assessment, please click here or on the Register Today box.
The ISVS Team
The ISVS family are respected educators, entrepreneurs, international study veterans and highly trained interviewers who believe there is a better way than quantitative standardized testing to let schools know who you are. We developed our International Study Candidate Assessment Process (ISCAP) with the ongoing input of top higher education leaders in the United States and other English-speaking countries. We intend to transform international admissions from an impersonal process driven primarily by numbers to one that enables some of the best colleges and universities in the United States and elsewhere to value you as a person.
With early adoption by respected higher education institutions as a required or highly recommended part of their application processes, we are confident that ISVS’s holistic, qualitative assessment is going to rapidly become a valued new standard in international admissions that benefits you, your family and schools worldwide.
We are excited to share that journey with you.
